1. Who We Are

LocalSaver (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated by Zavian Digital, based in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. We run the platform at localsaver.co, which connects consumers with local business deals.

2. Information We Collect

When you create an account

• Email address
• Name (optional)
• Date of birth (optional — used only for birthday offers)
• Password (hashed and never stored in plain text)

When you use the app

• Deals you've claimed and redeemed
• Your approximate location (only if you grant permission — used to sort deals by distance)
• Device type and browser (standard server logs)

When you sign up as a business

• Business name, address, contact details
• Information submitted via our business signup form

3. How We Use Your Information

• To operate the platform — serve deals, process claims, and validate redemptions
• To send transactional emails — claim confirmations, welcome messages
• To send optional marketing emails — weekly deal digests, re-engagement nudges (you can unsubscribe at any time)
• To send birthday offers if you've provided your date of birth
• To improve the platform — usage analytics are aggregated and anonymised

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising outside of LocalSaver.

4. Emails & Communications

We use Resend to send transactional and marketing emails. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. To stop all email from us, click unsubscribe in any email or contact us at the address below.

5. Location Data

We request your device's location only to sort deals by distance from you. Location is processed in your browser — we do not store precise GPS coordinates on our servers. You can deny location permission at any time; deals will still be shown without distance sorting.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Supabase (hosted on AWS infrastructure). We use row-level security policies to ensure users can only access their own data. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. We use HTTPS on all pages.

No system is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes.

8. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate LocalSaver:

• Supabase — database and authentication
• Vercel — hosting and deployment
• Resend — transactional email
• Google Maps API — address lookup and mapping

Each provider has its own privacy policy. We only share data with these services to the extent necessary to operate the platform.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time

10. Children's Privacy

LocalSaver is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the “last updated” date at the top. Continued use of LocalSaver after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
